Fredericton, NB- The Holland College Hurricanes blew into Fredericton and stormed out with a 3-2 win over the host St. Thomas Tommies.
Brett Butler, the ACAA leader in kills lead the Hurricanes to the dramatic win with 19 kills. The Tommies had a more balanced attack that saw four players reach double digits in kills, led by Ben Singer, who had 14.
It was match that fans have come to expect between these two teams as the Hurricanes jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 25-23 first set win. The Tommies bounced back to win the next two sets, 25-17 and 30-28 respectively, before Holland College ripped off two straight wins to clinch the match.
St. Thomas hosts the USA Dragons Sunday afternoon, while the Hurricanes will have to wait until February 10th when they will host a rematch against the Tommies.
