Tommies Add Local Talent Morgan Coy to 2025 Women’s Volleyball Roster
Fredericton, NB — St. Thomas University Tommies women’s volleyball program is excited to welcome Morgan Coy to its 2025 recruiting class.
A versatile athlete from Fredericton, NB, Coy will bring her skill to the Tommies as an outside hitter and libero. She developed her game through the REDS Volleyball Club and has been immersed in the sport since the age of four.
“As a player, I will bring a positive and competitive energy to the team,” Coy said. “I’m really excited to join the STU team—the team culture is what drew me in, and I know Coach Kim is a strong competitor. I thrive under coaches like that, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the season goes.”
Currently training with the Canada Games training group, Coy is eager to take the next step in her volleyball journey close to home. Choosing St. Thomas was a natural fit for the Fredericton native.
“I’ve had the opportunity to walk around campus many times, and I was really attracted to it,” Coy said. “The smaller classes will also give me a better learning experience.”
Coy will be pursuing an Arts degree at STU, with a focus on business courses, some of which she will take at the University of New Brunswick. Off the court, she enjoys heading to the beach courts with friends for casual volleyball matches.
"We’re excited to have Morgan joining our team this fall. I’ve had the pleasure of watching Morgan develop and excel over the years with the Reds club. She has worked hard and developed into a versatile athlete and a competitor. Morgan can effectively play both outside hitter and libero positions; she brings a high volleyball IQ and is eager to contribute and compete". - Head Coach Kim Colpitts
With her dedication to the sport and strong connection to the local community, Coy is expected to make an immediate impact as the Tommies continue to build a competitive and tight-knit squad.
