Wendy Zhao Joins STU Tommies Volleyball
Fredericton, NB – St. Thomas University Athletics is thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Tommies women’s volleyball team, Wendy Zhao, a highly talented libero from Calgary, Alberta.
Wendy brings a wealth of experience and a competitive edge to the team, having played for the Lions Club and her high school, All Saints High School. When asked about her contribution to the program, Wendy said, “I will bring a very competitive attitude and continue to develop a strong passion for my sport. I am determined to make the most positive impact I can and contribute to the overall success of the team.”
Wendy chose STU due to its welcoming environment. “I felt comfortable voicing my ideals for post-secondary during the recruiting process. Coach Kim has been a key factor in helping me discover my perfect fit at STU. I am excited to become part of STU's close-knit community and want to be successful on and off the court.”
Wendy will be pursuing a degree in psychology with a particular interest in sport psychology and other sport-related research. Her academic and athletic aspirations align perfectly with the values of St. Thomas University.
STU’s head coach, Kim, expressed excitement about Wendy’s commitment. “Wendy is a great athlete with a strong work ethic and dedication to her sport. Her positive attitude and drive will undoubtedly make a significant impact on our team. We are looking forward to seeing her thrive both on the court and in her academic pursuits.”
