Eden Schellenberg Joins STU Women's Hockey for 2026-27
Fredericton, N.B. — The St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies Women’s Hockey program is pleased to announce the commitment of Eden Schellenberg, a right winger from Calgary, Alberta, who will join the team for the upcoming season.
Playing for Calgary Fire, the Calgary native brings speed, energy, and an offensive mindset to the Tommies lineup.
“I am a fast and high-energy player who creates opportunities for myself and my teammates,” she said. “I’m excited to bring that style of play to STU.”
Her decision to join the Tommies was shaped by the strong sense of community she experienced during her visit.
“I loved how everyone was so welcoming on and off the ice and how close the community on campus was,” she added.
Beyond hockey, she plans to pursue studies in psychology while also exploring science courses, aligning with STU’s commitment to academic excellence for student-athletes.
She also shared positive impressions of the program and coaching staff.
“As soon as I landed, everyone was so welcoming and helped me get the best experience while I was there,” she said. “I loved how close all the girls were with each other and how complimentary Peter and all of them were.”
Head Coach Peter Murphy and the Tommies staff are excited to add another driven and skilled athlete to the roster for next year.
“Eden is a power forward who has a strong offensive side to her game and wants to make the difference when she is on the ice. She has excellent size and skating ability to allow her to affect the game at both ends of the ice. We look forward to helping Eden develop her game, and we know she will fit in well with our team’s culture and sense of community." —Peter Murphy
