Sylvan Lake’s Brylee Hull Commits to Tommies Women’s Hockey
St Thomas Women’s Hockey is proud to announce their first commitment for the 2026-27 USports season. Brylee Hull of Sylvan Lake, AB will be joining the Green and Gold and help to continue their history of strong goaltending. Brylee plays for the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs in the Alberta Female Hockey League’s U18 AAA division. Hull joins the Tommies as a goaltender, bringing strong technical ability, compete level, and steady presence in the crease.
“I’m so excited for the opportunity to come to St. Thomas,” she said. “I will bring competitiveness and a strong work ethic, dedication to making myself and the team better, and a positive attitude to contribute to the great team culture the Tommies have.”
Drawn to STU by its welcoming environment and close-knit campus community, she said the decision quickly felt like the right one.
“Every person I met there made me feel welcomed, as well as the academic opportunities they offer.”
Off the ice, she plans to pursue studies in Education and Math. Outside of hockey, she keeps busy by playing golf, spending time outdoors, and travelling.
Hull spoke highly of the Tommies’ coaching staff and the impact they had on her commitment.
“Coach Murphy made me feel welcomed and wanted in the program. You can see how much he cares about his players, on and off the ice. His philosophies—preaching hard work and building a strong team culture—were a huge draw for me. Coach Gormely, the goalie coach, was also a big reason why I chose STU. His dedication to developing his goalies excites me for my future with the Tommies. Moving across Canada will be difficult, but with the great team environment the Tommies have, it will make the transition much easier.”
Coach Murphy shared his excitement to add another elite goaltender to his strong group stating "She is a goalie with size and mobility and is already technically strong but is interested in pushing her game to the next level. This work ethic is consistent with our current goaltending group. On top of that she is a quality person who will be a valuable addition to our dressing room and team culture. We look forward to having her join us in the fall.”
Hull becomes the newest recruit for the Tommies for the 2026–27 AUS season, and the program looks forward to welcoming her to Fredericton.
