Offensive Defence Bianca Faso Commits to Tommies Women’s Hockey
The St. Thomas University Tommies are excited to announce the addition of Bianca Faso to the Women's Hockey program for the 2026-2027 Season.
Originally from Okotoks, Alberta, Faso joins the Tommies’ as an offensive-minded defenceman who excels at contributing to the attack from the back end. She developed her game at Holy Trinity Academy and with the Calgary Fire Red.
“I’m excited to bring an offensive mindset and puck-moving defensive play to the Tommies,” Faso said. “I’m looking forward to contributing however I can and continuing to grow my game.”
Faso’s decision to commit to St. Thomas University was strongly influenced by the sense of community she felt during her visit to Fredericton.
“I chose St. Thomas because of the community,” she shared. “From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The staff and students were incredibly welcoming, and that meant a lot to me.”
Academically, Faso plans to pursue studies in Criminology and Forensics, balancing her commitment to hockey with strong academic goals. Away from the rink, she is also involved in track and field.
She spoke highly of the Tommies program and the culture being built at STU.
“The team culture at STU is very special, and I’m excited about the opportunity to be part of it,” Faso said. “The coaching staff are committed to building a winning program and developing good people, which is something that’s very important to me.”
Coach Peter shared his excitement stating, “We are very pleased to add Bianca to our lineup for next season. Bianca has great edges and uses her skating to help her skate pucks out of trouble and make consistent breakouts for her team. She has the ability to join the rush and we see her being able to impact our team at both ends of the ice. She demonstrated great character on her visit and will fit in well with our team dynamic.”
The Tommies are thrilled to welcome Bianca Faso and look forward to the energy, skill, and character she will bring to the program as she begins her journey at St. Thomas University.
