moncton, NB - Aislynn Byers' power play goal midway through the middle period was all that was needed for the St. Thomas University Tommies (1-0) to register a 1-0 victory over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (0-1) at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena on Friday evening in their opening game of the 2021-2022 Atlantic University Sport women's hockey regular season.
Goalkeeper Caroline Pietroski faced 27 (8-8-11) shots to register the shutout for the visitors in the game that gave quick and interesting play for the spectators.
