STU Tommies Men’s Volleyball Ready to Build on Momentum for 2024-25 Season
As the STU Tommies prepare for the 2024-25 men's volleyball season, the team is excited to build on the strides they made last year. With a young core in 2023-24, the focus was on daily improvement rather than weekly results, leading to a strong finish and a promising performance at Nationals. This year, the Tommies are excited to continue showcasing their talent and take the next step toward competing for a National Championship.
The 2024 recruiting class is expected to bring significant depth to the solid roster. Incoming recruits Brayden Bruce and Tyler Wilson, both playing at a high level, have the potential to be key contributors for years to come. Additionally, transfer players Nate Beaton and Dallas Melnick are anticipated to play crucial roles this season as the Tommies aim for success.
The ACAA will be highly competitive this year, with USTA returning most of their starters after a 14-2 season and other programs are strengthening their rosters.
Despite the tough competition, the Tommies are focused on building upon last year's success and have their sights set on representing the conference at the CCAA and competing for a National Championship.
The Tommies will return to a talented and experienced group this season. Setters Tim Juvonen and Raph Fiset will continue to lead the team, while Brenton Romanchuk is expected to elevate his game after an all-star season. Offensively, the team will rely on Dallas Melnick and Mason Brewster, both of whom are poised to be key players for opposing teams to strategize against.
This year, the Tommies aim to be more physical at the net, both offensively and defensively. Their improved defense, combined with a strong presence at the service line, should allow them to put significant pressure on opponents and improve their overall team performance.
With a mix of returning talent and new additions, the 2024-25 season promises to be an exciting one for the STU Tommies men’s volleyball team as they pursue their goal of competing for a National Championship.
