Tommies Shine at ACAA Awards Banquet
Fredericton, NB - St. Thomas Tommies were front and centre when it came to individual honours at the ACAA Awards Banquet this past Friday.
Leading the way was Kathleen Boyle, who was named ACAA Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and 1st Team All-Conference. The fourth-year outside hitter delivered another dominant campaign, recording 266 kills (third most in the conference), 225 digs, 12 solo blocks, and 33 service aces. Her consistency and leadership helped guide the Tommies to a 15-5 regular season record. Boyle was also named CCAA All-Canadian.
First-year standout Cali Nadeau captured ACAA Rookie of the Year honours. Nadeau also earned Second Team All-Conference recognition. Her record was 141 kills, 149 digs, and 49 service aces in her debut season. Additionally, all-conference team recognition went to Ava Slipp, who was named ACAA Second Team All-Conference on the women’s side.
On the men’s side, head coach Henri Mallet was named ACAA Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. Mallet guided the Tommies to a remarkable 19-1 regular season record, highlighted by a 17-match winning streak and a first-place finish in the conference standings.
Three major awards for the Tommies.
Mason Brewster, Raph Fiset, and Brenton Romanchuk were named to the ACAA All-Conference Team; Mason Brewster was named CCAA All-Canadian.
A dominant season on the court was matched by major recognition off it. A true reflection of excellence within the Green and Gold volleyball programs.
