The St. Thomas University Tommies women's basketball team has added more tenacious defending for the 2018-2019 season.

Kathryn Whittemore, a five-seven guard from Sackville, NB, has committed to join the STU squad this fall.

"Strong teammates and knowledgeable coaching can make you grow as a player and a person," Kathryn said in choosing St. Thomas.  "STU's basketball history is long and successful and awarded - I want to be part of its history"

The incoming Tommie who graduated from Tantramar Regional High School, earned her team's "Charlie Hustle" award recognizing her hard work and dedication to the Titans.

Coach Fred Connors is looking forward to add those qualities to his squad.  "We are excited that Kathryn has decided to come to STU.  She is a great kid that loves basketball and has shown she will work hard on her game."

Coach Connors also added that Kathryn will add great defending and will bring grittiness to each practice - a valuable asset.

Tommies will kick off the season with the annual Ken Gould Invitational October 19-21 at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym. Basketball Early Bird Season Passes are on sale until July 31st for only $30.00 and includes the Ken Gould!!  More details click
